Behzod said: This article again rises the issue of hunger and food assistance programs in North Carolina. It maintains in the beginning that in February, 1.31 million people - more than one in seven North Carolinians - benefited from the food assistance. The article argues that people who had a steady business and a good amount of income before are now turning to the help of food assistance programs because they lost their business and income sources due to the economic downturn in the nation.

Behzod said: Genesis Home Executive Director Ryan Fehrman also supported the idea that the city government should build new housing units for the disabled people with low income. He criticized Councilwoman Cora Cole-McFadden for not making immediate commitment for this cause.
Fehrman did not like the Councilwoman's position towards the issue when she first wanted to know the view of the mayor before making her own decision.
Article seems to support Cole-McFadden by saying that Councilwoman has one vote, and she can not promise much without the support of the Mayor.

Behzod said: Advocates of the Homeless in Durham are demanding that the city government buy 1.5 acres in the redevelopment area for constructing about 20 housing units for disabled people with low incomes.
The city staff is not supporting that recommendation, however, said Community Development Director Mike Barros.
